The 3rd Historic Car Retrospective brings classic vehicles to Castellane for a weekend. Here is when and where to see them — at the car display or along the two stretches driven by the crews — and what to know if you’re on these roads on those two days.
From 1:30pm, departure from the Castellane community hall towards the Castillon dam, then up to Demandolx as far as the Croix de la Mission — the same stretch is driven twice. The vehicles are on display in the afternoon on Place Marcel-Sauvaire, right in the centre of Castellane: the easiest spot to see them up close without travelling.

Second stretch, from the Chaudanne dam to Demandolx via La Silve. Plan for the whole day: the cars pass through on this route between 9am and 5pm.
Yes: entry is free for spectators, both to see the vehicles on display on Place Marcel-Sauvaire and to watch the runs on the two stretches (Castillon/Demandolx on Saturday, Chaudanne/Demandolx on Sunday), according to the official listing from the Castellane-Verdon Tourist Office.
The simplest spot is the car display on Place Marcel-Sauvaire in Castellane, on Saturday afternoon. To see the vehicles in motion, the two timed stretches are: Castellane → Castillon dam → Demandolx (Saturday 1:30pm, two runs, then again at 8:30pm) and Chaudanne dam → Demandolx via La Silve (Sunday, 9am-5pm).
Partly, yes. In a notice to residents published on its website on 22 September 2026, Demandolx town hall announces, for the 5th historic car hillclimb, the closure of the voie communale no. 5 on Saturday 26 September from 1pm to 11:30pm and of the RD 102 on Sunday 27 September from 9am to 5pm. These are the only closures we found confirmed: on the rest of the Castellane-Demandolx route (via Castillon or via Chaudanne/La Silve), expect to cross paths with the convoy and to wait briefly at the times of the passes. Check the town hall’s notice before you set off.
