Colourful market halls, lavender stalls, goat cheese and plateau melons: the Verdon has a Provençal market almost every day of the week, spread across its villages. Here is the full calendar, village by village, days verified with the town hall or tourist office — not copied from a third-party guide.

One market deserves a special mention: in Riez, Wednesday and Saturday each have their own line-up of stalls.

Two winter markets, distinct from the Provençal markets above: black truffle is traded in Aups (Thursdays, late November to late February, sometimes until mid-March) and in Riez (Wednesdays, November to February).

Frequently asked questions
Which day is there a market in the Verdon?
Almost every day of the week, a market takes place somewhere in the Verdon: Friday in Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, Saturday in Valensole and Riez (which also has a Wednesday market), Thursday in Villecroze, Les Salles-sur-Verdon and Gréoux-les-Bains, Wednesday and Saturday in Castellane and Tourtour (in Tourtour, Wednesday only from October to March or April), Sunday in Régusse and Bauduen. In Esparron-de-Verdon, the town hall announces a market on Tuesdays and Fridays, from June to September. The table on this page gives the detail by village.
Are the Verdon’s markets open all year round?
It depends on the village. The markets of the main towns (Castellane, Moustiers, Riez, Valensole, Villecroze) run all year round. Others, in the lakeside villages (Sainte-Croix-du-Verdon, Aiguines, Quinson, Esparron-de-Verdon), are seasonal and only open in summer. In Tourtour, the town hall confirmed to us in writing on 12 October 2026 that the market is held all year round; from October to March or April, it is reduced to the greengrocer and the butcher, on Wednesdays from 8:00 to 10:00.
