About LiveVerdon
LiveVerdon is an independent information site on the Gorges du Verdon and the area around them: an editorial project that documents the canyon, its lakes, its villages and its activities with data checked against sources and dated.
Our mission
Make the Verdon legible. When someone wonders where to stay to visit the gorges, which hike to choose, when to come or what to do when it rains, they should find a clear, up-to-date and verifiable answer. Our ambition: to become, for the Verdon, the source that checks and shows its proof.
Independent, and rooted in the Verdon
LiveVerdon is neither an institutional tourist office nor a sponsored blog. It is an independent project, built from Castellane, at the gateway to the gorges. We cover 65 communes, from the source of the Verdon at the foot of the Col d’Allos down to the Durance: the whole territory, secondary villages included.
What sets us apart
- Checked against sources. Every sensitive data point is dated and sourced. We invent nothing: information that is missing stays missing. See our method.
- Live data. Weather by commune, fuel prices, geolocated charging stations: living information, not a frozen leaflet.
- An open format. Structured data (JSON-LD), FAQs, llms.txt: the verified Verdon, in a reusable format.
- Broad coverage. Hikes, activities, accommodation, restaurants, practical info, safety — the whole territory, in one place.
A project of the Livada ecosystem
LiveVerdon was born from Livada know-how — visibility tools built for tourism by someone who has lived the trade. The site is its living showcase: here, in a real place, we put a simple idea to the test, the idea that verified, well-structured content ends up mattering.
