Taxis

The taxis of the Verdon

In such a vast, poorly served area, the taxi is often the missing link: the last mile the bus doesn’t cover, the return trip from the Blanc-Martel trail, a late arrival at the station. Here are the taxis of the Verdon, commune by commune — remember to book well ahead, as there are few of them.

These numbers were collected from the tourist offices of the Verdon and cross-checked, but taxi mobile numbers change: always confirm before you travel, and book at least 12 hours ahead (more in the evening, at night and in summer). If in doubt, the tourist office of the commune will give you the current number and an available driver.

Frequently asked questions

How do I book a taxi in the Gorges du Verdon?

By calling the taxi of the nearest commune directly. Taxis are scarce in this rural area: book at least 12 hours ahead, and more in summer or for an evening or night journey. If you don’t have an up-to-date number, the local tourist office will point you to an available driver.

Is there a taxi for the Blanc-Martel trail?

Yes. Taxis provide drop-off at the Chalet de la Maline (trailhead) and pick-up at the Point Sublime (finish) — an alternative or a complement to the Park’s shuttle, useful when the shuttle isn’t running or is full. Book the day before, especially in high season.

Can you take a taxi from the train station or bus stop?

Yes, it’s even the most common use: the bus or the Train des Pignes drops you at the village, and the taxi covers the “last mile” to your accommodation or an outlying hamlet. For a late arrival at Saint-André-les-Alpes or Castellane station, let the taxi know in advance.

Are the numbers on this page guaranteed to be up to date?

They were collected from the Verdon tourist offices and Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Tourisme, and cross-checked. But taxi mobile numbers can change: always confirm before you travel. If in doubt, the commune’s tourist office gives the current number.
