When it comes to wellness, the area has two faces. Gréoux-les-Bains, France’s 3rd-largest thermal resort, concentrates the historic offer — thermal baths and hotel spas, 45 minutes to 1 hour from the heart of the gorge. But the heart of the Gorges du Verdon — Castellane, La Palud, Rougon, Aiguines — remains a blind spot for public spas: this is where visitor numbers peak in summer, yet where provision is rarest.

In the heart of the gorge, Spa Castellane (in Castellane) is the most central massage and private-spa address open to everyone. In La Palud-sur-Verdon, the Cinq Mondes Spa at Hôtel des Gorges du Verdon opens to non-guests in season. For thermal treatments and a wider choice, Gréoux-les-Bains (France’s 3rd-largest thermal resort) is about 45 minutes to 1 hour away.
Yes, but the choice is limited: the heart of the gorge (Castellane, La Palud, Rougon and Aiguines) is a blind spot for public spas. In Castellane, Spa Castellane offers massage, a private hot tub and sauna to everyone; in La Palud, Spa Cinq Mondes opens to non-guests in season. Most other regional spas are reserved for hotel guests or located in Gréoux.
As a guide, massages at Spa Castellane range from €50 (Japanese facial massage and reflexology) to €70 (Hawaiian Lomi-Lomi); Californian, Swedish and energy massages cost €60. Private spa (hot-tub) access starts at €15 per adult, and a massage + hot-tub duo package at €99 for two.
